IT LOOKS LIKE THIS!!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Many of you have probably heard me say the story of how last year, we were basically giving each student "bites" of food... and this year, we were sending students home with plates of food! Our program has really felt very supported this year. It's these little things that grow our program's culture & helps to motivate everyone involved in continuing to improve the quality of our After School Program. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU! We definitely all felt like Rising Starrs during our Afternoon of Sharing! In case you've missed it--please LIKE OUR FACEBOOK PAGE! We posted these pictures on our facebook page last week.
If you ask your students, they may tell you about our "Shining Stars" Positive Points system that we have at the Rising Starrs After School Program. When a class reaches 20 "Shining Stars", then that class earns a celebration. In an effort to support their hard work, we will award ONE SHINING STAR PER FIVE FACEBOOK FOLLOWERS (PER CLASS). Please help your child's class earn a celebration by liking our page!

Put Tuesday, December 15th @ 4:30pm on your calendars! Tue, December 15th is our End of Semester Showcase. This will be the chance for you to see the culmination of your students' hard work in their enrichments. Our Dance class will show their Latin Dancing skills, Mandarin will show their work, and String Instruments will infuse us with holiday spirit through the rich and warm tones of their cellos and violins!
Next reminder is that we have the final rosters for the Hour of Code being offered Thu & Fri next week. We have several parents who've signed up to volunteer! The schedule will be the following:
Thu, Dec 10th
3:15-4:15 --> Unplugged Coding: Robot Friends
4:20-5:20 --> Plugged-In Coding: Minecraft
Fri, Dec 11th
3:15-4:15 --> Unplugged Coding: Robot Friends
4:20-5:20 --> Plugged-In Coding: Star Wars OR Frozen
***IT IS IMPORTANT YOUR CHILD PARTICIPATE IN BOTH THE UNPLUGGED & PLUGGED-IN PORTIONS OF CODING, WHICH MEANS THOSE THAT HAVE SIGNED UP SHOULD PLAN ON THEIR CHILD BEING IN PROGRAM THROUGH 5:20PM***
As a reminder, the priority was given to 3rd-5th grade students. Also, if your child is upset they didn't make it into the Minecraft Coding Day, it is because they have other scheduled enrichments. Many students couldn't get into minecraft because final rehearsals for violin, cello, and dance are all happening on Thu, Dec 10th to prep for the Tue Dec 15th showcase.
