Did you see our new "Friday Club Day" addition?! Ask your child about the 3 rules of the Reading Tent: (1) You Can Only Enter with a Book (2) Four Students Max (3) Inside Voices, they were all quizzed on it last week. Judging by the line to get in, this is going to be a popular club! If you have any old (CLEAN) tents/pop-ups/blankets/throw pillows lying around, we'd love to grow into a "Reading Village".
Please read on for a few more important announcements...
*HOLI will be celebrated at Starr King at the end of the school-day THIS FRIDAY (March 25). Please make sure that your child has extra clothes to change into after participating in HOLI. This will help make sure we aren't damaging the inside of the school by dragging in all the wonderful colors through the classrooms and hallways.
*S.T.E.A.M. Night will be held on Tue, April 19 @ 5:30pm-7:00pm. It is not too late to sign up! We need all the support we can get, since this year we will try to have 2-3 booths for each letter of "STEAM". We had a great turn-out last year, and we'd love an even bigger turn-out this year. Please send me an email at [email protected] if you'd like to volunteer your time. No STEM experience necessary!
*Relatedly, we are asking for more paper towel rolls, toilet paper rolls, plastic caps, and wine corks. They are great recyclables for innovating toys, tools, and roller coasters!
*The last day of After School Program will be on Wed, May 25th. Please put in your calendar that ASP will NOT be open on the last day of school (Thu, May 26). This is so that we have time to train, move, and transition into our summer program, which starts June 1st!
*Look out for the Last Enrichment sign up at the end of this week!
*Last but not least, Registration Packets for Summer & 2016-17 School Year are here. If you remember the rush in the beginning of the school year with waitlists and getting into our program--GET YOURS IN NOW (and let your Starr King friends know)! All required documents must be printed and turned into Maybelle or Mike. You may also pick them up, in person, from any ASP staff member.
