In an effort to build the 21st century skills of our students, Rising Starrs ASP is piloting this wonderful opportunity for students to partake in an "Hour of Code". This is possible through the coordination & volunteering of a couple SK Parents who've reached out & offered their services! It's efforts like these that help strengthen our school community, and is the reason we all work hard to ensure we have a robust support system for each and every one of our students.
"Hour of Code" consists of providing a couple hour-long lessons where students will have an opportunity to learn the VERY basics of coding. We have the vision to inspire students in becoming tech-literate, even at the elementary level!
As a personal plug, I have worked in several "getting women into stem" initiatives. I'm looking forward to seeing the equal interest coming from all genders in this event!
If your child is interested [& has the attention span], please fill out this form! Sign up is open to 1st-5th grade students, but 3rd-5th grade students are given priority for enrollment. We'll contact you by Dec 7th if your child is enrolled.
Click on "Hour of Code" if you'd like more information about this pilot.
